Established in 1987, Certified Management Contractors Inc. has successfully developed and constructed single family homes and multifamily for sale units with a combined gross sales volume of $31,930,000. Additionally, Certified Management Contractors has completed over $20,889,000 in new construction and rehabilitation of multifamily rental properties.
Certified Management Contractors served as a developer for John T. Eagan, Jr. in the development of 519 residential lots with a gross sales volume of $37,260,000. The firm also provides construction management services and has acted as Construction Manager for a number of owners/developers including two HOPE VI Revitalization projects. Construction management of Aster Park and Arbor Oaks, multi-family phases I and II of Kimberly Park Terrace and Alder’s Point, Providence Place and Willows Peake, multi-family Phases I, II, and III of Happy Hill Gardens consisted of coordination and oversight of over $2,500,000 in public infrastructure for the City of Winston-Salem and site improvements in excess of $6,750,000. Certified Management Contractors recently provided construction management services for four multifamily tax credit properties that were substantially rehabbed. The firm has considerable experience in disaster mitigation and reconstruction.

RICHARD E. MAXEY, JR., President, has been involved with Certified Management Contractors, Inc. since it’s incorporation in 1987. Mr. Maxey obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1980 from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Mr. Maxey is a member of the Winston-Salem Board of Realtors and the Home Builders Association of Winston-Salem and Lake Norman. Mr. Maxey holds the professional designations of Realtor, Certified Property Manager and Graduate, Builders Institute. As a licensed North Carolina General Contractor, Mr. Maxey participates in activities regarding development, renovations and capital improvements.
GAYE W. MORGAN, Secretary, Treasurer has been an officer of Certified Management Contractors since its inception, is actively involved in the development of multi-family rental apartments and is CEO of Community Management Corporation.
